Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 20 March 2026

Our commitment

WhatDoIEarn.co.uk is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.

What we've implemented

Semantic HTML — We use proper heading hierarchy (h1-h3), landmark elements, and semantic markup throughout the site.

Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (forms, buttons, links) are accessible via keyboard. Tab order follows a logical sequence.

Colour contrast — Our colour scheme maintains a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text against dark backgrounds.

Responsive design — The site works across all screen sizes, from mobile to desktop, and respects zoom up to 200%.

Form labels — All form inputs have associated labels or accessible placeholder text.

Focus indicators — Interactive elements show visible focus indicators for keyboard users.

Alt text — Decorative images are hidden from screen readers; meaningful images include descriptive alt text.

No auto-playing content — We don't auto-play videos, audio, or animations that can't be paused.

Reduced motion — Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query.

Known limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations. These include dynamically generated chart visualisations on the Explore and Compare pages, which may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide text-based data alongside all charts.
