Who we are (data controller)

WhatDoIEarn.co.uk is owned and operated by AXSystem Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under Company Number 17085060. What we collect

We store only the salary data you voluntarily submit: job title, salary, region, experience level, and employment type. IP addresses are hashed using a one-way cryptographic function (SHA-256) solely for rate limiting and spam prevention. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you.

What we don't collect

Salary submissions do not require names, email addresses or user accounts. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel or fingerprinting. Our privacy-first analytics records aggregate page usage, referral source, country, device/browser details, campaign tags and engagement. It stores no raw IP address; daily visitor and browser-session identifiers are one-way hashed, the session identifier expires with the browser session, and analytics records are deleted after 90 days. Advertising providers may process device and interaction information as described below, subject to your consent choices.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for session management and security. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure and personalise advertising where you consent. You can accept, reject or manage these choices through Google's certified consent management platform.

Data retention

Salary submissions are retained indefinitely to build a comprehensive, useful dataset. IP hashes used for rate limiting are automatically purged after 30 days.

Third parties

We use Cloudflare for CDN and DDoS protection, and Google AdSense for advertising. These providers may process connection, device and advertising data under their respective policies. We do not sell salary submissions or use them to identify individual visitors. See how Google uses information from partner sites.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to request deletion of your data. However, since submissions are anonymous and we cannot identify which submission belongs to you, we cannot selectively delete individual entries. If you have concerns, contact us.
